The Growing Local SC Food Summit is the inaugural meeting for organizations, individuals, farmers, and businesses working in the local food system to gather, connect, learn, and collaborate on building a network. The event is hosted by South Carolina Association for Community Economic Development and the Rural Resource Coalition and coordinated by Growing Local SC Food System Network and the SC Food Policy Council to create a cross-sector local food system network aspiring to cultivate a thriving, equitable, inclusive, resilient, and just food economy providing access to healthy food for all. The event is $20 per person and includes lunch and refreshments.
This event is hosted in partnership with SCACED and the Rural Resource Coalition as part of the Opportunity SC Conference. Participants are welcome to join for the full event and if you are traveling to the summit and need lodging, you can take advantage of the discounted hotel rate through SCACED.

Build connections across sectors
Share tools and resources (and seeds!)
Gather stakeholder input to support the creation of a statewide local food system plan
Who should attend:
Individuals working in the food system as leaders in the field. This includes anyone and everyone ranging from farmers, market managers, and food hubs to industry experts, extension agents, and policy makers. Sectors can range from food production and processing to public health and food security.
